Rick Harris
Rick came to Laser 558 with a lot of knowledge and experience, having worked at many stations before his stint in the North Sea. Rick was the first DJ employed by Laser, and the first to be heard on launch day in 1984.
Ric Harris
As the first DJ to register with the station, Ric was among the first to learn about the Laser project. When he hosted the Breakfast Show on the inaugural day, May 24, 1984, he was also the first person heard on Laser-558. In 1975, Ric started working as a broadcaster at his college station, WPLT in Plattsburgh, New York. Prior to his transatlantic voyage, he was also heard on WCVR Randolph, Vermont; WIRY in Plattsburgh; WKZE; and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After more than a year with Laser, Ric worked briefly for Radio Nova in Ireland. Later, Ric went back to the United States and found employment at WGMX in Norwalk, Connecticut. After that, he returned to school and graduated with a computer science degree.
